Spotlight: Tim Hass

Born along the mean beaches of the San Diego suburbs, Tim lived a wasted youth of sun, surf, and saying “DUUUUU-UUUUDE!” until discovering the English language and getting a broadcast journalism degree from the University of Missouri. He then embarked upon the nomadic, hardscrabble life of a television reporter/producer, including stints covering the Iditarod Sled Dog Race in Alaska for an Anchorage television station and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy for NBC.
But it was his passion for writing, travel, and his adopted home state of North Carolina that made Tim jump at the chance to become a Web Content Writer & Editor for LKM. Now, he spends his days writing about all the fun and exciting things to do in the state for the North Carolina Tourism account, and even managed to talk his bosses into giving him a video camera to capture the state’s beauty for all to see first-hand.
His friends and co-workers call him a ‘paid tourist’. But they’re just jealous.
Family:
Tim’s loyal companion, Jake The Wonder Dog, keeps things real at the “Hassienda” while a contingent of far-flung friends and family keep Tim entertained and busy.
Passions:
Tim enjoys tennis, hiking, and disc golf… traveling and exploring… great music and good wine… and writing about himself in the third person.
